St. Eleanor School is located in Collegeville, Pennsylvania. It serves the students of St. Eleanor Parish. It operates under the auspices of the Office of Catholic Education in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. There are currently overĀ 500 students enrolled in the beautiful 36,500 square foot multi-purpose educational center. The facility has 19 classrooms, a computer lab, library, administrative offices, teacher's lounge, nurse's station, elevator, and handicapped accessibility. It was dedicated in September, 1992. The parish also has a very active Catholic Youth organization. With overĀ 4000 families within the Parish, St. Eleanor's continues to grow, expand, and welcome newcomers.

For more than 75 years, St. Eleanor Parish has been a leading Catholic presence in the Perkiomen Valley. Since 1911, St. Eleanor has served the Catholic community through the preaching of the Gospel and celebration of the liturgy. Our pastor and parishioners felt a strong conviction in the importance of a Catholic education. Throughout the early years, belief persisted in the opportunities Catholic education presents for deepening and cultivating the rich heritage of the Faith, together with the hope that St. Eleanor would one day have its own school. In 1948, this hope was realized. Land was acquired adjacent to the Church at 4th and Main Streets, and a parish school was opened.

For more than 4 decades, St. Eleanor has grown as an active community, nurturing and deepening the Faith of its parishioners, young and old. By the late 1960's, St. Eleanor outgrew its facilities. A 14 acre site was acquired at 6th and Locust Streets. A new church was completed in 1971 and a new rectory built in 1980. In 1986, with the parish totalling more than 1300 families as it celebrated its 75th Anniversary, Parish Council presented a proposal for a multipurpose facility, to be located on the new site. Father John Franey, assigned to the parish as pastor in January, 1987 made the proposal a priority. After a needs assessment and a feasibility study were completed, it was evident that a new and larger religious education and multipurpose facility were a must to accomodate parish activities. The solution to the present and future needs of St. Eleanor Parish was a new Religious Education Center, encompassing a multipurpose and educational facility that was projected to meet the demands of the next decade and beyond. The "Light the Way" campaign began immediately.

It was successful and the $4 million, 36,500 square foot multipurpose facility was built. The school was dedicated on September 28, 1992. Currently there are two classes for every grade.
